Project Overview

The United Republic of Tanzania has engaged in a partnership with World Bank and have established the East Africa Public Health Laboratory Networking Project (EAPHLNP), which consists of a network of Laboratories that will jointly carry  out disease surveillance across common boarders as one of its components  using with the  use  of technology.
The countries agreed to provide leadership at the regional level by taking charge of the various components in key technical areas where each country has a comparative advantage. Uganda has been chosen to take a regional lead in Laboratory Networking and Accreditation, Kenya for disease surveillance and Operational Research, Tanzania for Training and capacity building and Rwanda for ICT and Performance based financing.
